Marso & Gala

Marso & Gala (Alexei Manezhin and Gala Kucherenko) is a musical collective from Siberia, that was formed in 2012. Alex was born and raised in the city of Krasnoyarsk, Gala was born in a small taiga village in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Thousands of kilometers of endless taiga, wild rivers on one side and urban authenticity on the other, is what impregnates the music of Marso & Gala.

They met each other in the university in 2002. After 10 of offriendship they started creating together. Their first release was with the British label Offworld Recordings, as part of the compilation ´Different Shoresª with a track called ´Northern Lightsª.

Gala's lyrics are linked with memories of her life in the north, they reflect to her early impressions, as well as something that touches her now.

Operon

Operon has been a pillar of the drum'n'bass community in Brisbane (Australia) for over ten years now. Alongside partner in crime DJ Erther, Operon was responsible for reviving a dead scene for this UK breakbeat sound in his home town. Lack of exposure to the genre and a poor selection of events compelled Operon to start his own parties which led on to the seminal Brisbane clubbing event Rude Bwoyz Monthly. This dnb institution ran consecutively each and every month for over five years making Rude Bwoyz one of the longest running independent club events in Brisbane! His endeavors in nurturing the local scene have seen him rinse out alongside renowned dj's such as LTJ Bukem, Teebee, A-Sides, Logistics, and Pendulum, as well as a feature mix and interview on major national radio station Triple J.

Also a keen producer, Operon has a string of releases lined up for 2014 as well as a solid catalogue of single and EP releases on top liquid and atmospheric labels including Fokuz, Phuzion, Camino Blue and Covert Operations (to name a few), as well as his own digital label Golden Orb Records.

His musical efforts payed off handsomely when his Fokuz Recordings release Electrons was played by London Elektricity on his Hospital Records podcast. The exposure gained from the podcast as well as his regular release schedule, saw Operon perform live at the 2012 Splendour in the Grass festival. His closing set on the saturday night saw the Tipi Forest stage packed to capacity as over one thousand revellers danced to this talented producers brand of deep, atmospheric drum'n'bass.

The summer of 2013/14 has seen Operon perform at some key festivals on the Australian electronic music calendar, including both Island Vibe, and Earth Frequency Festivals.
